The three research tags below are the whole point of the exercise: they say what a document proves, what the weight of evidence suggests, and what nobody has found yet. Gold, head, 38, first marriage of 18 years, born Texas of German-born parents, farmer, renting; Anna, wife, 30, first marriage of 18 years, mother of 7 children of whom 5 living, born Alabama of Alabama-born parents; Elmo, son, 16; Eva, daughter, 15; Alvie, son, 13; Myrtle, daughter, 8; Vernon, son, 2; the children born Texas. Her age, 30, is ten years short: she is Annie B., 9, in 1880 (S479) and born January 1871 by the 1900 census (S730). Eighteen years married agrees with the 1900 census’s marriage about 1892.

Newspapers.com, read from the site’s text of the page on 30 September 2026; the page image has not been transcribed letter by letter. Confirmed Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Bell Gold, widow of Henry Gold, were conducted in Kyle on Friday (6 May 1949). She died in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Whitaker, in Austin. Surviving: three daughters, Mrs. J. M. Whittington of Kyle, Mrs. Clarence Whitaker and Mrs. Gus Woodall of Austin; three sons, Vernon Gold of Kyle, Elmo Gold of Elgin and Alvie Gold of Texas City; two brothers, 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. ⚠ The two brothers are not named, and neither are her parents. No Austin paper of 5–12 May 1949 was found to carry an obituary.

The informant is not in the index.
