Evidence: An index of Ella Shreckengost Warner's 1910 marriage at Council Bluffs names her parents as Henry Shreckengast and Mary Miller; a Henry 'Schnepenger', 35, born in Pennsylvania, heads the 1860 Winslow, Illinois household that fits Ella's 1870 one. Weak or missing: The 1910 marriage is read from the index only; the 1860 page gives initials, a garbled surname and no relationships; our reading of the 1870 page found no man in the house where its index lists Henry, 49; his birth and death are not found; Ella's own link to this record is Probable. Probable
Probable confirm or correct → Probably the Henry “Schnepenger”, 35, a farmer born in Pennsylvania, at Winslow, Stephenson County, Illinois, in July 1860, with M., 26, P. J., 10, C., 8, E., 3, and Samuel, 72 S1523. Evidence: M., C. and E. fit Mary A., Clement and Ella of the 1870 household at Lena in the same county. What is weak or missing: initials only, a garbled surname, and no relationships stated. Know more? Use ‘Add to this record’
Probable
Probable husband of Mary A. Miller. In June 1870 our reading of the census page at Lena found Mary A. Shreckengost, 37, at the head of the household and no man in the house S1318; the index of the same page lists Henry, 49, at its head. One of the two is wrong, and re-reading that page settles it

Compiled for the Proeger family

Living adults appear by name and relationship, with the year only: no full date of birth and no home town on any page that search engines index, and a living person’s own page is kept out of search engines. Minors appear by name only — no date of birth, no birth year, no age, no school, no place, no address, no other identifying detail. A minor may be named and may appear in a family photograph; nothing further about them is published. Where it is not established whether someone is an adult or a minor, the minor rule applies.
