How to read this record
Every claim is tagged
Most family trees flatten everything into the same confident typeface. This one does not. The three research tags below are the whole point of the exercise: they say what a document proves, what the weight of evidence suggests, and what nobody has found yet. A fourth marks what the family stated directly, where no document has been retrieved at all — it is kept separate on purpose and is never quietly promoted to confirmed. A fifth marks biological evidence: a DNA result is not a document, and it is not testimony either. Two further labels mark where this page withholds information rather than lacking it.
Attested by a document that was actually retrieved and read — a census sheet, a government index, a grave marker, a family-written obituary.
Strongly supported but not nailed down: a user-contributed tree, a masked index field, or a chain of consistent circumstances. Believable, not proven.
Searched for and not located. This is a statement about the search, not about the person — the record may well exist somewhere unsearched.
Supplied by the family and recorded on their word — no document has been retrieved for it. Note the diamond rather than the dot: this is provenance, not proof, and it stands apart from the three record tags above S24.
Biological evidence consistent with a claim. It corroborates origins; it does not by itself establish a person or a link. Note the bar rather than a dot or a diamond: no DNA result on this page is ever counted as confirmed, because no document was read for it S46.
The person is living. On the charts and in the chains of names a living person appears by name and relationship. A living adult’s full record is on their own card, published with the family’s consent and kept out of search engines. A minor appears by name only. The privacy note at the head of the page gives the rule in full.
A branch that is actively being worked on. The node exists in the structure so the shape of the family is honest; the detail is simply not in yet.

Research status
Evidence: The 14 April 1839 baptism at Capelo of Anna, daughter of José Duarte Pereira and Anna Luiza, names Antonio Ignacio da Silva and Rosalia Ignacia as her maternal grandparents (S2395). Weak or missing: One register entry names them, read from a copy of the page another Ancestry member shared, not the archive scan; no record of their own baptism, marriage or burial has been read. Not yet confirmed. Know more? Confirm or correct this →
Life in the order the records give it
Rosalia Ignacia lived on the island of Faial in the Azores as the wife of Antonio Ignacio da Silva. She is known from one entry: the baptism at Capelo on 14 April 1839 of Anna, born on 2 April, daughter of José Duarte Pereira and Anna Luiza, which names her and Antonio as the child’s maternal grandparents S2395. She was the mother of Anna Luiza, José Duarte Pereira’s wife, and the great-grandmother of Anna “Annie” L. Silva. The register gives no surname for her beyond Ignacia.

- S2395Baptism of Anna (Anna Luiza do Coração de Jesus), 14 April 1839 — Santíssima Trindade (Capelo), Faial, Azores. Baptisms 1839, page 236. Image shared on Ancestry by member 00dd2d3b (hint 1028737903526), image examined, transcribed 24 October 2026 (TRANSCRIBE-20261024 round 3). Probable (strong) Anna, daughter of José Duarte Pereira and his wife Anna Luiza, natives and parishioners of the Santíssima Trindade, lugar do Capello; paternal grandparents Gabriel José Pereira and [F?]elicia Roza; maternal Antonio Ignacio da Silva and Rozalia Ignacia; born 2 April 1839, baptised 14 April 1839 by the vicar Francisco de Serpa Baptista. Godfather Francisco Pereira [?], single, “filho dos avós paternos”; godmother Ignacia Luiza, wife of José Silveira. The only record so far naming the four grandparents. The parents’ names and the parish agree with Anna Luiza’s 1858 marriage (S1235). A member’s copy of the page, not the archive’s own scan (BPARJJG, Capelo baptisms), and member uploads have been misread before; the first letter of “Felicia” and the godparent clause are partly illegible. The archive scan, or José Duarte Pereira’s marriage at Capelo, would settle the grandparents.
