Evidence: The Pittsburgh obituaries of her mother, 11–12 April 1912, name among the children left “three daughters, Mrs. Minnie Benjes of Baltimore, Md.; Caroline and Gertrude” (S1654). Weak or missing: She is known only from these obituaries, read as machine-read text, not from the page images; no birth, marriage or death record of hers has been read, and no dates are known. Funeral services on Thursday … at 2 p.m. … (Greensburg and Uniontown papers please copy).” Press obituary: “Except for a short period during which she lived in Greensburg, Pa., Mrs. Proeger had been a resident of Pittsburg for over 40 years. She was a member of the German Evangelical church. Besides her husband, she leaves four sons, Julius, Jr., Fred, William and Walter; three daughters, Mrs. Minnie Benjes of Baltimore, Md.; Caroline and Gertrude, at home, and nine grandchildren.” The Post of 12 April gives the same names. Her parents are not named; the printed age is a year over her baptism [S184].
