Research status

Research status: PROBABLE as the husband of Sue Mary Coffman Atchley. The evidence is strong: the Texas marriage index names the couple, the index of the 1920 census lists him, and her 1979 obituary names him as her husband S1740. It stays Probable because the marriage index shows no date, his own funeral notice does not name his wife, and every record is an index or the machine-read text of a newspaper page: no image has been read.

Evidence: The Texas marriage index names him and Sue Mary Coffman, and her 1979 obituary names him as her husband; the indexes of the Texas death records and of his draft card give his birth on 2 December 1895 at Cumby, Hopkins County, and his death on 14 July 1957 at Abilene; his funeral notice of 15 July 1957 agrees (S1740). The evidence is strong. Weak or missing: The marriage index shows no date; his funeral notice does not name his wife; no burial place is known; every record is an index or machine-read newspaper text, and no image has been read. Compiled for the Proeger family

Living adults appear by name and relationship, with the year only: no full date of birth and no home town on any page that search engines index, and a living person’s own page is kept out of search engines. Minors appear by name only — no date of birth, no birth year, no age, no school, no place, no address, no other identifying detail. A minor may be named and may appear in a family photograph; nothing further about them is published. Where it is not established whether someone is an adult or a minor, the minor rule applies.
