The Pennsylvania county marriages record Julius Proeger and Ida Waggoner, married 12 June 1889, Pittsburgh; his U.S. passport applications of 1917–1921 and a 1917 consular registration name his wife as Ida Waggoner Proeger. The servant is not kin, though the relationship column calls her “daughter”. German-born parents fit Julius Karl Proeger and Minnie Kochendoerfer, but the census does not name them.

Proeger, born 22 June 1890. The same day the register baptises an Andrew Wagner, about 50 and “very ill”, at his home on Wyoming Street. Ida Waggoner lived on Wyoming Street when she married, but nothing on the page says he was her father.
