Life in the order the records give it

Death1938
Two of his sisters’ obituaries name him as a brother: in February 1938 that of Leola Logue Piland, which also names her parents, “Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Louge of Sherman”, and puts Quillan, Marvin and Halbert Logue at Los Angeles S1571; and in April 1961 that of Mabel Logue Piland, which has Marvin and Halbert Logue at “Riveria”, California S1573

Open questions what is probable, weak or missing — confirm or correct it

Probable
Probable confirm or correct → Born at Waco, Texas, on 6 February 1900, and died at Los Angeles on 25 November 1966. The evidence is the California Death Index entry for Hobert Logue, which gives that birth date, Texas, and his mother’s maiden name as “Hambey”; the 1945 draft card of Hobart Logue, born 6 February 1900 at Waco; and the 1930 census, which has him in one Los Angeles household with his brother Lee Marvin Logue S1581. What is weak or missing: all three are read from indexes, not images, so only an index ties the Halbert of the Texas censuses to the Hobert who died in 1966, and only an index gives the day of his birth and the date of his death
Weak or missing
What is weak or missing: no record read names his father or mother in so many words
the censuses place him in the household, and the death index gives only his mother’s maiden name; his 1966 death certificate has not been read; “Riveria” in the 1961 obituary is not placed; whether he married or had children is not known, and none is named here. Compiled for the Proeger family

Living adults appear by name and relationship, with the year only: no full date of birth and no home town on any page that search engines index, and a living person’s own page is kept out of search engines. Minors appear by name only — no date of birth, no birth year, no age, no school, no place, no address, no other identifying detail. A minor may be named and may appear in a family photograph; nothing further about them is published. Where it is not established whether someone is an adult or a minor, the minor rule applies.
