Open questions what is probable, weak or missing — confirm or correct it

Weak or missing
What is weak or missing: the marriage was read from the index, not the register, and names no parent of the bride; the index spells her Evia; the obituary gives only her married name; no death certificate or obituary of hers has been read. No child of hers is named here. Know more? Use “Add to this record”.

Image examined in the Stage 2 reading, 1 October 2026. Confirmed 23 April 1910: Henry L. Gold, head, 38, first marriage of 18 years, born Texas of German-born parents, farmer, renting; Anna, wife, 30, first marriage of 18 years, mother of 7 children of whom 5 living, born Alabama of Alabama-born parents; Elmo, son, 16; Eva, daughter, 15; Alvie, son, 13; Myrtle, daughter, 8; Vernon, son, 2; the children born Texas. Her age, 30, is ten years short: she is Annie B., 9, in 1880 (S479) and born January 1871 by the 1900 census (S730). Eighteen years married agrees with the 1900 census’s marriage about 1892.
  2. S1552Obituary, “Mrs. Anna B. Gold” — San Antonio Express, 8 May 1949, p. 56, datelined Kyle, 7 May. Confirmed Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Bell Gold, widow of Henry Gold, were conducted in Kyle on Friday (6 May 1949). She died in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Whitaker, in Austin. 3. S1656Marriages of Eva and Myrtle Gold — Caldwell County, Texas, 1911 and 1920. Texas, Select County Marriage Index, 1837–1965, and Texas, County Marriage Records, 1817–1965. Ancestry, read from the index entry on 2 October 2026; the image has not been opened. “Evia Gold” and John Whittington, married 18 December 1911, Caldwell County (two index entries of the one marriage). Myrtle Gold and August R. Woodall, married 14 November 1920, Lockhart, Caldwell County (licence and return entries). Neither entry names the bride’s parents; the tie to Henry L. Gold and Anna Bell Caffey rests on the 1910 household [S1092] and on the married names in the 1949 obituary.

Compiled for the Proeger family

Living adults appear by name and relationship, with the year only: no full date of birth and no home town on any page that search engines index, and a living person’s own page is kept out of search engines. Minors appear by name only — no date of birth, no birth year, no age, no school, no place, no address, no other identifying detail. A minor may be named and may appear in a family photograph; nothing further about them is published. Where it is not established whether someone is an adult or a minor, the minor rule applies.
