Research status

Research status: CONFIRMED as a daughter of David Emily “Dee” Coffman and Mary Jane “Mollie” Wright. Her Texas death certificate, no. 15321, read from the image, names her father as D. E. Coffman, born in Virginia, and her mother as Mary J. Wright, born in Texas; her husband, Owen Holly, gave the information S350. The 1910 census, also read from the image, lists Daisy, 14, as a daughter in her parents’ household at Abilene S347. The certificate image was read on 24 September 2026 and again on 11 October 2026; both readings give the same names for her father, her mother and her husband.

Family parents, marriages, children, siblings

Marriage1940
Wife of Owen Holly, who is named as her husband and informant on the certificate S350. The certificate spells the surname Holly; a family history printed in 1940 gives her as Daisy Hope Coffman, born 5 April 1896, married to W. Owen Holley, a mail carrier at Abilene. Her husband and children do not have cards, and the children are not named here.

Open questions what is probable, weak or missing — confirm or correct it

Probable
Probable confirm or correct → Born in Taylor County, Texas, by the FamilySearch index of her death certificate. What is weak or missing: the certificate image says only Texas, so the county comes from an index alone, and the same index misreads her mother’s name as “Martha” Wright where the image has Mary J. Wright. Her middle name, Hope, is on the index and in the 1940 family history, not on the certificate image as read. No marriage record has been found. Know more, or think this is wrong? Compiled for the Proeger family

Living adults appear by name and relationship, with the year only: no full date of birth and no home town on any page that search engines index, and a living person’s own page is kept out of search engines. Minors appear by name only — no date of birth, no birth year, no age, no school, no place, no address, no other identifying detail. A minor may be named and may appear in a family photograph; nothing further about them is published. Where it is not established whether someone is an adult or a minor, the minor rule applies.
