How to read this record
Every claim is tagged
Most family trees flatten everything into the same confident typeface. This one does not.
The three research tags below are the whole point of the exercise: they say what a document
proves, what the weight of evidence suggests, and what nobody has found yet. A fourth marks
what the family stated directly, where no document has been retrieved at all — it is kept
separate on purpose and is never quietly promoted to confirmed. A fifth, added on
13 September 2026, marks biological evidence: a DNA result is not a document, and it is not
testimony either. Two further labels mark where this page withholds information
rather than lacking it.
ConfirmedAttested by a document that was actually retrieved and read — a census sheet, a
government index, a grave marker, a family-written obituary.
ProbableStrongly supported but not nailed down: a user-contributed tree, a masked index field,
or a chain of consistent circumstances. Believable, not proven.
Not foundSearched for and not located. This is a statement about the search, not about the
person — the record may well exist somewhere unsearched.
Family testimonySupplied by the family and recorded on their word — no document has been retrieved for
it. Note the diamond rather than the dot: this is provenance, not proof, and it stands
apart from the three record tags above S24.
DNA evidenceBiological evidence consistent with a claim. It corroborates origins; it does
not by itself establish a person or a link. Note the bar rather than a dot or a diamond:
no DNA result on this page is ever counted as confirmed, because no document
was read for it S46.
Living — withheldThe person is living. By the privacy rule for this page, name and relationship are
shown, and at most a year the family has already published. Full dates of birth, ages,
places of residence and record identifiers are held back.
Research in progressA branch that is actively being worked on. The node exists in the structure so the
shape of the family is honest; the detail is simply not in yet.

🆕
Photograph, 10 February 1937 Confirmed (family testimony): she and
William Harry Proeger on the grass with a cat, three and a half years before their 1940 marriage. Their daughter
Patricia (Proeger) Collins named them on 1 October 2026: “My father William Harry Proeger and my Mother Aileane Da Silva”. In Photos below.
Her own "cousins list", c. 1996. Written by Eileen herself about thirty years ago, for
Tasha Proeger, Earl's sister, who later sent it to Earl. Its closing line is addressed to her:
"I thought you might like to know how many cousins you have." Each of her four children
appears with that child's children and their ages. It is undated, but Bill's 55 and Earl's 29 place it in
c. 1996. Ages are hers. Every "b. c." year below is
derived from age minus 1996, not
taken from a record
S205.
- Nancy — "deceased" at the time of writing. Her children:
- Sheryl, 40 (b. c.1956, derived): children Bryan, 16 (b. c.1980, derived); Stephanie, 14 (b. c.1982, derived); Amanda, 11 (b. c.1985, derived)
- Joann, 39 (b. c.1957, derived): children Robert, 22 (b. c.1974, derived); Derek confirmed by Earl Proeger, 22 Sep 2026, 12 (b. c.1984, derived); Rex confirmed by Earl Proeger, 22 Sep 2026, 11 (b. c.1985, derived)
- Elain (spelled without a final E) confirmed by Earl Proeger, 22 Sep 2026, 35 (b. c.1961, derived): child Tessa confirmed by Earl Proeger, 23 Sep 2026, 11 (b. c.1985, derived)
- David, 24 (b. c.1972, derived)
- Patricia, 58 (b. c.1938, derived). Listed under her:
- Ginger, 40 (b. c.1956, derived): children Edgar, 16 (b. c.1980, derived); India confirmed by Earl Proeger, 23 Sep 2026, 13 (b. c.1983, derived); Carolina, 10 (b. c.1986, derived). After Carolina's name: "(adopted) Same family"
- Rusty: "deceased", "57yrs". At 57 he cannot be the child of a 58-year-old. He is more likely Patricia's late husband, but the sheet does not say. 🆕 Patricia married Albert R. Collins in 1967, when he was 48 (born c.1918–19) S1207; Earl confirmed him as his uncle on 2 October 2026 Family testimony. If Rusty is Albert, “57yrs” would be his age at death (c.1975–76), not his age on the list. Nothing yet links the two names.
- Robbie, 36 (b. c.1960, derived): children John Paul, 4 (b. c.1992, derived); Kelsey, 3 (b. c.1993, derived)
- Carl, 35 (b. c.1961, derived): children Mindy, 10 (b. c.1986, derived); Albert, 7 (b. c.1989, derived)
- Teal confirmed by Earl Proeger, 23 Sep 2026, 27 (b. c.1969, derived)
- Bill, 55: children Earl, 29; Mark-Damon, 24, written as one entry with one age (the twins, b. 1972); Tasha, 21 (b. c.1975, derived); J J, 2 (b. 1994 S24) = John Jacob “Jacob” Proeger, Earl’s half-brother, Bill’s son confirmed by Earl Proeger, 22 Sep 2026
- Kathie (the list's spelling of Kathy Roberts), 40 (b. c.1956, derived). No children are listed.
Nancy's death, settled 23 September 2026: the sheet calls Nancy
deceased by c. 1996, and the record agrees.
She died on
9 January 1973 in Wallowa County, Oregon, as Nancy Wortman (Oregon Death Index, certificate 73-01723)
S298; the
Wallowa County Chieftain reported that she took her own life at Wallowa Lake
S343. The 2025 date this page once carried for her was an error.
Sheryl on this list matches Sheryl Lynn Parsons, Nancy's daughter
and the owner of the Parsons/Prejean Ancestry tree.
Census1930
In 1930 she is living with her paternal grandparents, Frank and Anna Silva, at
Washington Judicial Township, Alameda County
the census lists her at age 11 with
the relationship
"Granddaughter", and gives both her parents' birthplace as
California
S49. Her father had died in December
1924. She was six.
Record—
The NUMIDENT birthplace fragment "Mission San" resolves: Mission San
Jose is one of the villages of Washington Township
the Portuguese-Azorean
district, now part of Fremont, where the whole Silva family lived
S47S50Earl's own given names are "Robert Earl," and his father's stepfather from the age of
five was Earl … Roberts. A striking fit — but it is an inference about naming,
not a record. A lead for family interviews, nothing more.

- S17FindAGrave memorial 298908631, Anna Blanche Roberts Proeger (1892–1942) — findagrave.com/memorial/298908631.
- S24Family testimony — Earl Proeger, September 2026. Stated directly by the family and recorded on their word. Covers: the Silva maiden name and William Harry Proeger as his father's father (both of which record research had already reached independently); and, on Kristin's side, her father Thomas Caffey — raised in Austin, University of Texas, died at Austin — and her mother Lavonne Walker, Walker being her maiden name. Not a document. No record has been retrieved for any of the Caffey or Walker statements, no dates were supplied for either person, and none has been estimated. Carried throughout as Family testimony, never as Confirmed. Superseded in part on 13 September 2026: the Thomas Caffey statements are now carried on records instead — see S31–S35. The Lavonne Walker statements still rest on this source alone. Extended 17 September 2026: the family further states that she was born Walker, married a Caffey and divorced, then married a Danielson who has since died — which is why her photographs are captioned Danielson. It matches the Caffey obituary's "former wife, LaVonne Danielson" [S31] independently. Her present surname and her widowhood rest on this testimony alone; the second husband's given name, and every date and place attached to that marriage, were not supplied and are not published. Extended 22 September 2026 (eyewitness): Earl was present at the birth of his half-brother John Jacob “Jacob” Proeger, born in 1994 to William Leonard Proeger and Briana Castro Proeger; Earl states the birth was one month before his own wedding ceremony with Kristin, which was held on Guam (the marriage itself was registered in Travis County; see the next entry). No birth record has been retrieved. Extended 22 September 2026 (Earl’s own account of his marriage): “Kristin and I married on Guam in a ceremony but registered our marriage in Travis County […] and we could marry without swearing, a scruple we held as Quakers and which Guam had no accommodation for.” The only date held is the Travis County registration, 1994, from the Texas Marriage Index [S2]; the date of the Guam ceremony was not supplied and is not published.

Frank Sr: age 37, born June 1863, birthplace "Azores Port", arrival 1888, Head, married 13 years — and his own father's and mother's birthplace, both "Azores Port," which is the sixth generation. His wife Annie, 34, "Azores Port"; daughter Mary, 4; son Frank, 3, California. ⚠️ Indexed under the Anglicised spelling "Frank Silver", which is why he was invisible to earlier searches. - S49US Census, 1930 — Washington, ED 349, Alameda County. FamilySearch
ark:/61903/1:1:XCX2-4JJ (Aileen) and 1:1:XCX2-4JF (Frank Sr, Head, age 66). Aileen Silva, age 11, relationship to head: "Granddaughter", father's and mother's birthplace both California — which matches Frank T. Silva and Mildred A. Rose exactly and rules the Azores-born generation out as her parents. Her father had died in December 1924. 🔑 Re-served 22 September 2026 under Anna's hint; the image-level reading and its supplement are at [S147]. - S50US Census, 1940 — Washington Judicial Township, Niles, ED 1-180, Alameda County. FamilySearch record
ark:/61903/1:2:9MJ4-4SZ5; film image 1:2:3QS7-893H-5WQJ. A government vital record, not a user tree and not NUMIDENT. The index assigns the roles in its own fields: Frank Silva — "Father Of Bride"; Mildard A Rose — mother of the bride; Aileane S Proeger — bride, using the married surname from William Harry Proeger. This is the document that moved Aileane's parents from Probable to Confirmed, and it also records her third marriage, behind the known alias "Aileane Silva Parliman." - S56California Birth Index, 1905–1995 — Aileane Silva, born 15 August 1918, Alameda, California, FamilySearch
ark:/61903/1:1:V256-J8H. The index's single associated surname is the mother's maiden name, and it reads Rose — corroborating Mildred Rose as her mother from a vital-records index rather than from NUMIDENT or a user tree. Its limit, stated: the index does not print the mother's given name, so it establishes the surname Rose, not specifically "Mildred A." - S67Frank Silva Sr — obituary, November 1946. The record that confirmed the island. Not one indexed field: it independently corroborates every axis the lodge registers rested on — age 83 (b. ~1863), Mission San José, both lodges, wife Anna L., son Frank Jr — and adds the granddaughter by her married name. The second capture's OCR reads "Azures" for Azores: a scanning slip, not a variant place. It also overturns the "d. Santa Barbara County" reading this page had taken from the California Death Index; the index is simply incomplete for Alameda County. - S88Earl Theodore Roberts and Aileane Proeger — Los Angeles County marriage record, 8 February 1946. 1:1:K8KQ-X2F (groom) and 1:1:K8KQ-X2V (bride). Retrieved 16 September 2026. Both parties aged 27; the groom's parents are named as Leon H Roberts and Bessie H Henderson; the bride is indexed under her first married name, Proeger, with her parents as "Lank" [Frank] Silva and Mildred Ross [Rose]. It does two jobs. It replaces a family tree as the authority for Aileane's third marriage, and it is the only record that names Earl Theodore Roberts's own parents — which is how this page can state that he is no relation to the Anna Blanche Roberts in the generation above. Two unrelated Roberts families sit on this tree. ⚠️ She is indexed in February 1946 as Proeger, not as Parliman, though the Parliman marriage of 31 May 1943 came first [S51] — an oddity of the index, recorded and not explained. - S125William Harry Proeger and Aileen Marie Silva — Wasatch County, Utah marriage, 13 August 1940. Utah, County Marriages, 1871–1941, Wasatch County, Marriage License Record E, page 203, certificate no. 2915. Register image 4000 × 3238 px, read 20 September 2026. Both parties present: groom age 25, bride age 21; licensed, married and filed same day by Alfred Sharp, County Clerk and LDS Elder. Witnesses Bert M. Lindsay and Marjorie Duke — neither related to either family. Both gave residence as "Rockford, Madison County, Illinois" (no Rockford exists in Madison County; the clerk struck the printed "Utah" and wrote Illinois — the address was internally inconsistent, recorded and not corrected). familytree-docs/proeger/proeger-silva-marriage-certificate-1940.jpg. The document behind the weakest "Confirmed" in the corpus. Previously sourced to a FamilySearch tree event (S12) with no government record. This county vital record — with both their signatures — replaces it. ⚠ Heber City is on the US-40 transcontinental corridor; Earl reports the couple was traveling from Ohio to California and stopped to marry, which fits the route. The residence anomaly (Illinois, not Ohio or California) is what they told the clerk and is not smoothed over. Two months later William Harry registered for the draft in North Hollywood. - S205Handwritten "cousins list" by Eileen (Aileane) Roberts, c. 1996. A single sheet in her hand listing her four children (Nancy, Patricia, Bill, Kathie) with each child's children and their ages, closing "I thought you might like to know how many cousins you have." Written for Tasha Proeger, Earl's sister; the closing line is addressed to her. Tasha sent it to Earl, and it was published on 22 September 2026 (documents/silva/eileen-roberts-cousins-list-c1996). Undated. c. 1996 is derived from Bill's age (55) and Earl's (29). Birth years derived from its ages are marked as derived. Tessa (11), India (13) and Teal (27) confirmed by Earl Proeger, 23 Sep 2026. Derek (12), Rex (11) and Elain (35, spelled without a final E) confirmed by Earl Proeger, 22 Sep 2026. J J (2) is John Jacob “Jacob” Proeger, Earl’s half-brother and Bill’s son, confirmed by Earl Proeger, 22 Sep 2026. His birth year, 1994, is Earl’s eyewitness testimony [S24], so for him the age is not a derived year. It records Nancy as deceased by c. 1996, which the Oregon Death Index confirms: she died 9 January 1973 [S298].
