Research status

Research status: PROBABLE. Eva, the surviving daughter of the late Jörg Kreber (or Kerber) of Groß-Allmerspann, married Hans Gronbach, son of Hans Gronbach of the same place, on 27 November 1649 S836; and in December 1652 an Anna Maria was baptised at Langenburg to Johannes Gronbach of Groß-Allmerspann and Eva S837. Both read from the register images. What is weak: the 1676 marriage of Anna Maria names only her father S805, so the link rests on the 1652 child being the 1676 bride (the same father, hamlet and given name). Added 29 September 2026

Evidence: Her 1649 marriage to Hans Gronbach of Groß-Allmerspann, as the surviving daughter of the late Jörg Kreber, and the December 1652 Langenburg baptism of Anna Maria to Johannes Gronbach and Eva; both read from the register images. Weak or missing: The 1676 marriage names only Anna Maria's father, so the link rests on the 1652 child being the 1676 bride; her death is not found; her 1631 baptism, which names her father Georg Kreber, is now read (S1077). Life in the order the records give it

Birth1631
🆕 Baptised 22 November 1631 at Langenburg, the child of Georg Kreber of Groß-Allmerspach and Maria, by the Langenburg baptism register, read from the image Confirmed S1077. Daughter of the late Jörg Kreber of Groß-Allmerspann by the 1649 marriage entry, the same man; her father now has a card: Georg Kreber S836. added 30 September 2026
Record1712
The registers call her only Eva. The name “Elisabetha” and the death in 1712 that some online trees give her are not supported by any record read here; her 1631 baptism now is. Her death is not found

  1. S805Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Parish Registers — Lendsiedel, marriages 1676 (image 1528571-00015): Hans Schuster and Anna Maria Gronbach, 29 February 1676. Ancestry record 914964776. Image examined in the Stage 2 reading, 27 September 2026. Probable Read at full resolution: "d. 29. febr. sind copulirt worden Hannß Schüst[er] bey undern Schmerach … u. Anna Maria, Hannß Gronbachs deß jüngern, [Bauers] zu großen Allmerspann, ehelich ledige Tochter": Hans Schuster of Unter-Schmerach married Anna Maria, the single daughter of Hans Gronbach the younger, a farmer at Groß-Allmerspann. The same hamlet as Elisabetha's 1736 burial (“born Schuster of Unter-Schmerach”, S608) and the same parish as her 1678 baptism, which calls her mother simply Maria (S609). A margin insertion probably names the groom's late father as Michel Schuster, a farmer at a place beginning with K; that reading is tentative; the site gives it as Probable, accepted by Earl on 28 September 2026 pending more evidence. A crop of the entry is in documents/schuster. Collection: Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Baptisms, Marriages, and Burials, 1500–1985.
  2. S836Langenburg marriage register, p. 536 — Hans Gronbach and Eva Kreber (Kerber), 27 November 1649. Ancestry record 914633326 (image 1528570-00508). Image examined, read 28 September 2026. Probable “Hanß Gronbach, Hansen Gronbachs [wirts?] zu großen Allmerspach fil. legit. und Eva, Jörg Krebers [or Kerbers] zu großen Allmerspach filia relicta”: Hans Gronbach, son of Hans Gronbach of Groß-Allmerspann, married Eva, the surviving daughter of the late Jörg Kreber of Groß-Allmerspann. Read at full resolution. The surname can be read Kreber or Kerber. The register calls her only Eva. Collection: Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Parish Registers.
  3. S837Langenburg baptism register, p. 348, line 13 — Anna Maria, daughter of Johannes Gronbach and Eva, December 1652. Image 1528570-00417. Image examined, read 28 September 2026. Probable “Johannes Gronbach zu Großallmerspach | Eva | Anna Maria”. The same father, hamlet and given name as the Anna Maria, daughter of Hans Gronbach the younger of Groß-Allmerspann, who married Hans Schuster in 1676 (S805), who would then have been 23. No document names Eva as the 1676 bride's mother. Collection: Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Parish Registers.
  4. S1077Langenburg baptism register, 1631, vol. 12 p. 294 — Eva, daughter of Georg Kreber of Groß-Allmerspach and Maria, 22 November 1631. Ancestry record 164631360 (image 1528570-00392). Image examined, read 30 September 2026. Confirmed Kindsvatter “Georg Kreber von grossen Almerspach”; Mutter “Maria”; Kind “Eva”; Gevatter “Eva Georg Gerbnerin”; 1631, 22 [November]. The same girl who married Hans Gronbach in 1649 as the daughter of the late Jörg Kreber of Groß-Allmerspann [S836]: one hamlet, one father’s name in two spellings, and a bride of eighteen. FamilySearch indexes this entry as QPP2-K9DL; the same search surfaced an Eva Elisabetha Kreber christened at Hall in 1756 to Georg Peter Kreber and Maria Susanna Woeller (N882-2WY), an unrelated family that explains the “Peter” and “Elisabetha” in online trees.

Compiled for the Proeger family

Living adults appear by name and relationship, with the year only: no full date of birth and no home town on any page that search engines index, and a living person’s own page is kept out of search engines. Minors appear by name only — no date of birth, no birth year, no age, no school, no place, no address, no other identifying detail. A minor may be named and may appear in a family photograph; nothing further about them is published. Where it is not established whether someone is an adult or a minor, the minor rule applies.
