Research status: CONFIRMED husband of Ottilie Annie Stein, the sister of Emma Stein Ladusch. The Colorado County, Texas, marriage index has Adolph Kelm and Ottilie Stein on 6 December 1906, and the 1940 census index of Fort Bend County has Adolph Kelm, 54, a farmer, with Ottilie, 53, his wife S1635; Emma’s death notices of 1952 name her sister as “Mrs. Adolph Kelm of Rosenberg” S1610. Every record here is read from an index or from newspaper text; no image is yet read. Added to the family tree on 10 October 2026

Life in the order the records give it

Birth1885
Born in Colorado County, Texas, on 31 July 1885; died at Richmond, Fort Bend County, Texas, on 25 November 1955, his home then at Rosenberg. All of this is from the index of his Texas death certificate, which names him Adolph Gotlieb Kelm S1638

Family parents, marriages, children, siblings

Parents
The same index gives his father as William Kelm and his mother as Mary Fisher S1638. Neither is entered in this record as a person: the names rest on the index alone and no other record of them has been read

Open questions what is probable, weak or missing — confirm or correct it

Weak or missing
What is weak or missing: his birth and death dates rest on the death certificate index alone; that the man who died in 1955 is the groom of 1906 rests on the name, on Rosenberg and on the 1940 household, not on one record that says so; the 1910, 1920 and 1930 censuses of his household have not been read; his children are not named here. The images of the 1955 certificate and of the 1906 marriage record would settle the dates and the identity. Know more? Use “Add to this record”.

Compiled for the Proeger family

Living adults appear by name and relationship, with the year only: no full date of birth and no home town on any page that search engines index, and a living person’s own page is kept out of search engines. Minors appear by name only — no date of birth, no birth year, no age, no school, no place, no address, no other identifying detail. A minor may be named and may appear in a family photograph; nothing further about them is published. Where it is not established whether someone is an adult or a minor, the minor rule applies.
